As a board-certified urologist, Dr. Lerner serves as Chief of the Urology Department at Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center is a part of the VA Boston Healthcare System, a set of hospitals run by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in the Greater Boston area. The Jamaica Plain Campus offers ambulatory care, primary care services, and serves as a hub for outpatient care. Academically, Dr. Lerner also serves as an Associate Professor of Urology in the Department of Urology at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). BUSM boasts one of the largest and most rapidly growing research programs among U.S. medical schools. In regards to her education, she earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona in 1994. She then went on to complete her internship in general surgery at the University of Arizona, followed by her residency in urology at Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
